Robs birthday was great! Imagine 5 gaming geeks, a geek's girlfriend, and a geek's mother renting out a stadium-seated AV conference room and mini-theatre, hooking up an XBox into a theatre screen, turning up the volume and letting rip with other company's fighting games. And THEN, to top it all off, toss in some high-grade sushi and japanese dinners AND all kinds of sodas and what nots. The best part for me, really, is the part not pictured. Before we moved down to take over the theatre and stuff, we spent some time in Judy's luxury condo up in the tower that the theatre was part of. While up there, we had kind of an informal atmosphere that it was great to have the chance to talk with Rob about whatever we wanted. For me, someone interested in gaming development but limited in scope to IT related stuff most of the time during office hours, it was a time to find out more about DirectX rendering, T&L instruction processing, and some of the new stuff that has come up that rob deals with on a day to day basis. I wish I had some pictures from that time because it was definitely my favorite part of the night. Relaxation and the chance to talk game design and development with one of the guys I respect most....
