Xcelerator LAN will forever be remembered as a stupid waste of time. Who, in thier right minds spends thousands of dollars of company money to fly a marketing team of three people 950 miles to a LAN that happens to be a tag-on to a ski expo? Someone who doesnt do thier homework. While I certainly appreciated the time in DC and the chance to see my family and for them to meet Judy and Darcy, this LAN apperance generated few, if any, leads. Few, if any, cross-marketing contacts. And we had the chance to meet, greet, and woo few, if any, fans. In fact, those at the LAN which DID have the opportunity to play the game were treated to a not-so-great experience as half of them had Nvidia cards which encountered serious gameplay and graphics errors. On top of all this, Judy pushed hard to run a tournament at Xcelerator on a game and platform we just did not have the tools to do so. The only real blessing in that endeavor was that the audience for the LAN wasnt any bigger so the embarassment was limited in size. Here are the photos from that experience.
