[7/2002 - 3/2003] ARMYOPS TECHNICIAN - ControlNet, Inc.
747 Camden Ave, Suite A, Camden, CA 95008 Provided remote technical support for users, recruiters, and army personnel for the Americas Army: Operations computer game from the United States Army. Responsible for handling calls and call disposition via an online live support system in real time. Constructed and edited frequently asked questions, technical specifications, and resolution guidance as necessary. Self-Reflection Having spent nearly a year with Manugistics (and building up a reasonable savings in that time), my next checkbox was to attend college. During my time at Manugistics, I had actually had the chance, twice, to go to Florida Institute of Technology. The first time, the financial picture just did not come together. The second time, a relative came through with the offer to cosign for the loan I would need... which would just cover the first year of college. I would have 3 more years, a huge amount of debt, and smaller chances of securing funding for subsequent years. I started at Montgomery College, getting some of my early bacchlaureate work done. The director of HomeLAN came to me after seeing my activity in the Americas Army community pre-release and indicated there was a support job coming up and would I be interested. Of course. For my time at college, I worked in the evenings over the internet to provide support for players and recruiters on the Americas Army game. For the most part, I loved this work and ended up leaving for the job with Diversions, an opportunity and choice that I do not regret in the least. I am thankful for my time with HomeLAN, for the opportunity to work in a schedule which would allow me to go to school.
