Unpaid voluntary position working for the Business Manager of Diversions Entertainment administrating a small team of beta testing trainers. Wrote technical and gaming articles for game promotion.

Self-Reflection

This was probably one of the most interesting jobs I have ever had the pleasure to work on. At 19 years old, I was the sole IT manager for Diversions, at one point running 4 public web sites (including an e-commerce store), a local IT infrastructure, as well as a product support group. On the flipside, the pay was absolutely abhorrent, (about half of market value, even adjusted for my relative lack of education and age/career stage) and the hours were similarly bad. Because the development team was small, they often needed all-hands availible for night testing sessions with debug codebase testing. This would sometimes lead to 80 hour weeks, with a 65-70 hour week being the average "normal" week. On the flipside, I enjoyed the opportunity, saw a lot of professional growth, and had the opportunity to gain experience working in sometimes difficult political circumstances.
